1.Project background

In recent years, household appliances have gradually shown a trend of intelligent and high-end development. In the future, China's home appliance products will develop from stand-alone intelligence and network intelligence to a safer, healthier and more convenient direction. The improvement of the intelligent level of household appliances cannot be separated from the interconnected network. The network unifies products, enables household appliances to be linked with each other instead of running independently, making the built household appliance system more flexible, convenient and intelligent.

For smart home appliances, once there are defects in the communication software or there are problems with the communication quality, it is likely to cause errors in information transmission or malfunctions within the product, which not only brings security risks, but also causes inconvenience to consumers. A good user experience may cause huge losses to businesses and consumers.

At this stage, the communication quality of household appliances with communication functions on the market is uneven, and there are large differences in performance indicators. The smart home appliance industry lacks complete testing methods to guide and standardize product design and evaluation in terms of network communication performance testing and evaluation. Production, testing, installation, maintenance, use and other aspects. Therefore, it is very necessary and important to strengthen the testing and evaluation of the communication connection quality of household appliances.

Based on the above background, the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Household Appliances proposed a national standard project plan for the "Household Appliances Communication Quality Evaluation Specification" and the project was successfully approved. The plan number is 20230836-T-607.

2.Standard content

This standard will guide and standardize product design, production, testing, installation, maintenance and other aspects from the application level to ensure effective and reliable communication between products or between products and cloud platforms, providing consumers with better user experience. experience and promote high-quality development of the household appliance industry.

This standard intends to use the communication success rate in complex application scenarios as an evaluation index to evaluate communication quality through a hierarchical evaluation method. This standard specifies the evaluation parameters for the communication quality of household appliances with communication functions, and proposes test methods for basic communication testing, network simulation testing, electromagnetic compatibility testing, environmental testing, and typical application scenario testing of smart household appliances (/systems).

Generally speaking, the external environmental conditions experienced by electronic products with communication functions are mainly divided into three types: natural environment, network environment and electromagnetic environment. Preliminary research data shows:

——The natural environment mainly includes: low pressure environment, high temperature environment, low temperature environment, temperature shock environment, hot and humid environment, mold environment, and salt spray environment;

——The network environment mainly includes: bandwidth limitation, communication delay, message modification, packet loss, error code, disorder, duplicate frames, background traffic, queue depth, and frame overhead;

——Electromagnetic environment problems include two categories. The first category refers to electronic circuits and equipment that fail to meet the expected technical indicators due to mutual interference or external interference during operation; the second category refers to equipment that does not receive electromagnetic interference. , but it cannot pass the national electromagnetic compatibility index.

Based on the above pre-research results, this standard is planned to cover five major categories of test environments: basic communication (directivity) testing, network simulation testing, electromagnetic compatibility testing, environmental testing and typical application testing.

3.Participate in the standards development working group

Currently, member units of the standard formulation working group are being solicited. Companies interested in participating in the bid can fill out the "Standard Drafting Working Group Registration Form" and the "Standard Drafting Working Group Members' Commitment Letter to Protect Intellectual Property Rights" and send them before October 15, 2023. to China Household Electrical Appliances Research Institute.
